Kiran Mazumdar Shah is one of India’s richest and self-made women entrepreneurs. As per her own admission, she became an entrepreneur by accident. She founded Biocon in 1978 that went on to become India’s largest listed biopharmaceutical company. Biocon is a leading name when it comes to manufacturing a wide variety of drugs. It also happens to be the first company to get approved by USFDA. In 2019, Shaw was termed the 54th richest in India and the world’s 65th powerful woman.
